Windows7 system does not detect the Generic USB Composite device

I have somehow changed something so that my HP ProBook 6555b no longer detects/recognizes the Generic USB Composite Device.  This must be the foundational device because no other USB device driver will properly load (although they are detected/recognized).  When I boot the PC into the miniXP mode on the Hiren's CD, all the USB devices are detected so it has to be something in my software setup.  How can I get Windows7 to rescan and detect the USB Composite Device? 

Shown below is the info from the 3DP Chip program.  I believe the line of most interest is at the bottom -- the ETC line.
