Is it a 3DP Chip v14.08? If so, please attach the log file in 3DP Chip folder(C:\Program Files (x86)\3DP Chip).

I got this error as well but am not near the affected machine presently. The machine I am on now I have updated to v14.08 but seems fine.

Also AVG picks up a threat during installation of 3DP.

AVG : I don't know why the AVG picks up a threat. That's because of an OpenCandy in 3DP Chip. But AVG also provide to OpenCandy(AVG is partner of the OpenCandy : AVG Toolbar, AVG PC TuneUp, AVG Antivirus Trial, AVG Antivirus Free, AVG Internet Security). I think the AVG has mistake.
